What is stored

When you build a request, Weekshape stores the answers on the form (your current and requested hours, days, core hours, trial dates, the lines you ticked and anything you typed, including any names you chose to enter) behind a random 10-character code. Names are optional. There is no account and no email address.

Who can see it

Anyone with the link. The link is not listed anywhere and request pages tell search engines not to index them. Share it only with people you trust.

How long

A request is deleted after 90 days without being opened (365 days for a request made with Plus). You can delete it yourself at any time from its page. Nightly database backups are kept for 14 days.

Everything else

To slow down abuse, the site counts requests per connection for a day, keeping the address only as a one-way salted hash. Forms use one security cookie. There are no analytics services and no advertising or tracking cookies. Fonts and the site’s own scripts come from this site; the only outside service any page loads is the one banner described under Advertising, which also counts one page view per page as a daily total. Nothing is sold or shared. Server logs are kept by the host for operating the server.

Advertising

The home page, the pattern pages, pricing and how it works each show one banner ad from AdEngine (adengine.us), the small ad network run by WeldonPC, the company behind Weekshape. For now the ads are for WeldonPC’s own services. The build form, your request and its check-in sheet and calendar file, and the privacy and terms pages never show an ad, so nothing you type into a request reaches the ad network.

To show an ad, your browser loads a script from adengine.us, asks it for one banner, loads the banner image, and reports once that the page was viewed and once that the banner was shown. Like any website, adengine.us receives your IP address, your browser type and the address of this site (not the page you are on) with those requests.

No cookies, no profile. AdEngine sets no cookies, gives you no ID and does not track you from site to site.

How your IP address is used. adengine.us looks up the approximate city for your IP address in a location database kept on its own server (nothing is sent to anyone else), so that ads meant for one area are shown only there. It also uses the address to count each ad view or click only once and to leave out robots and WeldonPC’s own office traffic. The address is not stored with the counts; the temporary entries made from it expire within six hours and are cleared from the server within two days.

What is kept. Daily totals only: page views for this site, and views and clicks for each ad. The adengine.us web server also keeps a standard access log (IP address, time, address requested, referring site, browser) for security; it is deleted on a rolling schedule.

Clicking an ad passes through adengine.us, which counts the click, and then opens the advertiser’s site, which has its own privacy policy. Nothing about you is sold or shared.
