What to check first
Counted Monday to Sunday, the weeks are 44 and 36 hours. Overtime is counted per fixed workweek, so employers who offer a 9/80 usually start the workweek halfway through the 8-hour Friday (the alternate short day): 4 hours of that day fall in each workweek, and each comes to 40 hours. Ask HR how they set it up.
